Astral Knights

The Astral Knights serve as a harbinger of good prosperity by affording the people of Eorzea the basic dignities that all should aspire toward: Safety, Security, and Opportunities for a prosperous world.
This is accomplished through the tenets of rebuilding infrastructure, providing for the common defense, and promoting the general welfare of all Eorzeans. We seek to establish liberty and freedom from oppression by aiding those who have need for assistance.

We are a Final Fantasy XIV Roleplay Free Company with linkshell consultants on Balmung.

Our Work

We have a diversity of what our adventuring company does for Eorzea-- from militaristic and combat-oriented operations as well as guard and delivery assignments--while also offering supportive functions. A number of these support functions could be anything from crafting or gathering scrips for clients and city-states.But we strive in making our company a team that works to each other's strengths and augment each other's weaknesses.

Astral Knights History

Founding
The free company, although only recently founded by several of the founding members previously under the defunct Crimson Tide Trading Company. Thus, Astral Knights was formed. With paperwork officially signed by Ka’haru Tia, the company aligned under the Maelstrom to assist the Grand Company with tasks and leveraged what little supplies and material they had on hand.
But as the company’s demands shifted to encompass a wide array of services, Djinnma Lalafuni was promoted to oversee Harvestry services as his experience in the field of gathering supplies was unparalleled within the company. Furthermore, the use of the estate acquired was subject to a constant matter of discussion. Amenities were scattered and inconvenient but Koata Nightshade had stepped into the company to properly maintain the company estate as well as open and operate a pub from the cellarage, referred to as The Armory Pub.
With the divisions solidified, the company leadership was set and poised for the plethora of tasks and requests that individuals, Grand Companies, and city-states needed.
The Armory Pub was established as a way for Knights to unwind and through the early leadership of Koata. The Armory Pub was a great place to relax and occasionally opens to the public. However, the services of the pub have since been decommissioned.

The company expands
The Astral Knights took on multiple different tasks and assignments across Eorzea: assisting with the Ishgardian Restoration efforts, providing aide to the Maelstrom and Twin Adders, and providing support to the refugees and survivors across the continents. As the company continued to expand their operations, the company felt the growing pains of new faces and opportunities to further their aid.
They found that their facilities lacked the adequate space they would need and quickly turned to opening up an Astral Knights Clinic to ensure proper care for their company members.

Future Prospects
The Knights continue to look for additional adventurers who want to impact change and improve the lives of all Eorzeans. Those who need help should expect that the Knights will do whatever is possible to ensure another person's safety and enable the pursuit of joy.

assignment involving ravenous sahagin terrorizing the La Noscea. Upon our entry though, they were almost incapacitated, moving of an accord we could not comprehend. It was as if there were affected by something. These creatures were zombified, their blood had curdled from the inside and the creatures moved with an abhorrent sway. Upon killing the creatures, we stumbled upon something odd in that area… but that’s likely unrelated.

Dossier
The Last Defense Liberation Army (LDLA) is a rogue and unsanctioned militia that seeks to free Eorzea from the Garleans through any means necessary. Confrontations have been sparse but indirectly, the company has determined the LDLA has no qualms with harming anyone or anything in their path.
Their tactics have seemed to rely on forcing Grand Companies to believe the Garleans are directly plotting attacks against them through staged and very real acts of aggression. Caution is advised.

Detailed assignments

Ishgardian Escort Awry & Excavation
Documentation in progress
While assisting Lord Danioux—an Ishgardian noble and patron—with delivering supplies for the Ishgardian Restoration, the company members bore witness to an airship crash near the Ixal Hunting Grounds to the east of a settlement. Within, a stolen cache of biological agents had released into the air, killing numerous Ixali. Thankfully, the crash itself had isolated the devastation. As soon as possible, the company found a way to infiltrate the site finding that not all the cargo was destroyed and in an odd twist, several of the Ixal had reanimated. The airship thieves were soon identified as the Last Defense Liberation Army; a renegade militia hellsbent on getting the Garlean nation to fall.

Lost Hope Infected
Documentation in progress
The people of Lost Hope, who were ‘handsomely paid’ to clandestinely break through the barrier seals of the Sil’dih ruins. It was later identified that Restov, through the people of Lost Hope who were affected by the illness, was looking for artifacts and other items, uncaring about the people who were taking the gil to get out of poverty, even at their own livelihood. No known cure was found at the time or able to determine a quick recourse.

Investigation Results"We presume that the LDLA’s efforts were to unleash devastation unto the Eorzean alliance by stockpiling this chemical around the nations that recently found freedom from the Garlean occupations to incite a war. We’ve found a couple of caches in the East, near Ala Mhigo, and I doubt that’s all of them thus far. We haven’t had much more luck about their hierarchy or their headquarters."

Assigned Tasks
Xil, Tamachi, Valentinoix, Shiomi, and Vigdis searched Central Thanalan while also tending to reports of Lost Hope's infected.
Koata and Kyr were tasked with searching: Doma, Knowing Sea, Othard (Greylic’s Bend), Dalmasca
Shiomi and Ka'haru tasked with: Thavnair and Hingashi
Thyl'sae investigated: Ala Mhigo

-----------------------------
Koata and Kyr found little evidence about the locations of the arsenals or traces of the company in these locations. However, they happened upon finding LDLA proselytes attempting to hire escorts from the Doman Enclave to the Dalmascan regions to try and rally support. Spotting a particular weakness in one of the men, Koata enlisted the help of a friend to join Kyr on the expedition. While little was documented of the encounter, their delivery failed due to a sudden attack of Bangaa burning the cart with their paper flyers to promote the LDLA. The company was unable to get any information of value from the low-level LDLA recruiters.
In Hingashi, Shiomi and Ka'haru learned the LDLA were making arrangements with local militias of Radz at Han. One such group was sent to meet someone named ‘R’tana’. This group conducted themselves with curious riddles and passphrases to ensure their meetings were clandestine and with the correct people.During Thyl’sae’s investigative work in Gyr Abania, he was taken captive and fell off communications with the company.Once the Knights found evidence of where Thyl'sae had been taken, the company launched an invasion to a small abandoned church that left more mysteries than evidence of Thyl'sae. However, in their haste, it was clear that another shipment of Black Rose had been stored nearby and removed before the Knights could make their way to the camp. Following what leads available, they company moved to the nearest city to track the next whereabouts.]In the Ala Mhigan Quarter, a substantial amount of gil was being passed to the people there to keep their mouths quiet, lest they wished for the LDLA to pull out. Numbers from the city were being recruited. The company trailed a number of resistance members making for an unassuming building. The people within operated in similar riddles and passphrases. The business name being used was ‘Turning Tide Industries’, in order to masquerade their movements and get supplies. The Astral Knights passed themselves off as the Hannish envoys who were thankfully en route to investigate setting up an adequate arsenal of their own. The LDLA had been building local arsenals in multiple regions with stockpiles of Black Rose and another unidentified agent. Unable to do more than extract the captured comrade and captive tinkerer, the company was left with no choice but to plant an explosive in the carved out mine deep within The Lochs.

Lost Hope Cured
Documentation in progress
The agent affecting the people of Lost Hope has been determined to be Traders Spurn. But if this is the other agent the LDLA has in their arsenal, why would they need Black Rose?
The cure was administered to Ka'haru (infected by the Sahagin) before the company ventured back to Lost Hope to see if this cure would work on them as well.Due to the time it took to develop and synthesize a cure, most of the settlement was overrun by the ill and no longer had the resources to do anything but quarantine. Someone determined that once the ailment reached a certain point, the most gravely ill were quarantined behind the cavern. Most taken to the cavern were not seen from again and once the Knights broke through the barricades to assist in administering the cure, they were met with conflict from those starting to turn into ashkin.

Naldiq & Vymelli's
Documentation in progress

Astral Knights Code of Conduct

IC Conduct
The following are a set of guidelines and suggestions for interacting with company members and communicating via the linkshell.

Positive BehaviorsNegative Behaviors
Being helpful and supportiveViolent/harmful actions and attitude towards your peers
Treating others as you would want to be treated.Gossip/Slander towards your peers
Being professional in the role and settings you are given (you are given a job, please act accordingly.)Being unprofessional in IC settings and roles you are given
Being harmful/violent towards those outside of the Free Company (Unless permissions are given by the other player and has purpose).

Roleplay Conduct:
The following are actions to avoid as a general rule of etiquette for not just members of the company but for all interactions you make.

IC actions have IC repercussions. No godmoding-- You shouldn’t present your character as a god, be omnipotent, or unable to be damaged. If you’re in a fight, you are likely going to take some damage. It’s not fun playing with someone who is invincible and it certainly isn’t fair if you ‘always win’. This is a basic principle of good roleplay etiquette.Metagaming should absolutely be discouraged. This is a situation in which your character knows information they are not privy to. Additionally, this could be working a scene to your advantage because you know information in an OOC context. Such examples could be that the player knows Ka’haru loves eating rolanberries with a glass of milk but nobody has seen him do such in public in years. As a gift, your character suddenly decides to give him rolanberries and milk because he knew it was Ka’haru’s favorite. Or perhaps you know that someone has ties to a syndicate in an OOC context and start approaching for a desired outcome of finding content. How did your character know to approach that specific person? Not knowing IC/OOC differences. Everyone has boundaries and it is best to keep IC feelings IC.The only blurred lines should be a Robin Thicke song. But should you choose to take that route with your roleplay partner, at least be consensual on both sides and discussed with discretion with the other player before assuming IC and OOC feelings are one in the same.

OOC Conduct
We are not responsible for all your character’s actions, growth, and storyline. You are. Do not depend on Astral Knights for all your RP. We will try to accommodate but if you have something you want, talk to an officer or progress on your own.

Positive Behaviors:

  • Helping others

  • Positive wordings and behaviors towards one another in chats

  • Respect for one another

  • Respect for other roleplayers

  • If someone is nearby RPing do not interrupt their immersion with antics you could be doing elsewhere, such as spamming skills or jumping on their characters.

  • Enjoying the game and having fun with your peers

  • Treating IC settings with respect. While most roleplays should be considered open in the main areas of the Free Company estate, not all players are going to always want to have additional people jumping in. Ask the other players if you can have your character join in or simply overhear the scene before doing so.

  • Please represent us well in public channels (eg. Say, Shout, Yell). When anyone with an FC tag makes comments, it reflects on the Free Company as a whole. Any poor public behavior on your part will in turn reflect poorly upon your company mates.

Negative Behaviors:

  • All aggressive commentary and arguing is to be kept out of these channels. Should you find yourself in a tense situation try to resolve it civilly via whispers before bringing it to an officer. If someone within the Astral Knights is harassing, being intentionally rude or crass towards you or others, please take screenshots. Without evidence of an issue we can not readily try to solve it. Likewise, if you do not tell us there is an issue won’t likely know. Please be vocal and communicate to fix issues and not let them sit around.

  • Negative comments and gestures towards one another. IC negativity is fine, if it is what works for your character; however, OOC negativity isn’t helpful or engaging. We are all people playing a game, so if you feel like you need to say something negative, it’s best to hold your tongue. Should you encounter this, try and handle it in private chat and escalate to an officer if it becomes a problem.

  • No in-depth talk or arguments over divisive topics in public chats--such as politics, religion, or other topics that prove caustic. If you are discussing lore, please be respectful of it. If someone expresses discomfort in a subject, please change topics. Basically in any chat /tell /party /LS (or Discord). If you are making someone uncomfortable it needs to stop immediately.

  • Any issues that outside individuals may have with the Astral Knights should be brought to an officer’s attention. You can always message Ka’haru on Discord. In order for the company to thrive, we need to have a good representation. All feedback, even negative, is something we want to reply back with humility and civility. It is not in yours or our best interest for you to take up the mantle of defending our name or reputation.

  • No NSFW commentary in the LS/main Discord channels. (Meaning sexual content. Cursing is fine at minimum) If you want to share adult content, we have a role in Discord for an Adult section-- ask an officer if you would like to be added to it.

  • Speaking about strong adult themes in public chat. Please keep it to /tell, /party, or otherwise closed conversations

  • We don’t care what you do in your personal time; however, public chat and the venue of the free company is not meant for those who choose to engage in ERP. Please keep that to private chat and out of the public spaces.
